Kuribayashi Hideaki

Koto

Hideaki Kuribayashi began studying the koto with Tadao Sawai in 1973. Today he is known as both a performer and composer of contemporary music for traditional Japanese instruments. He has received numerous prizes for his works, including a superior award from the Katei Ongaku Kai in 1979 and first place at the 1980 Pan-Music Contemporary Music Festival He is a member of the improvisatory group The String Quartet of Tokio and is the co-leader of the Blue Poles of Lear.
